Microsoft Drops ‘Nokia’ From Lumia

In Microsoft’s blog post recently, the company finally announced that it will bereplacing the Nokia Lumia brand almost after a year of acquiring Nokia. The software company revealed that its upcoming smartphone range will now be called as Microsoft Lumia.

The new ‘Microsoft’ branding will be present in all the future phones from the company. The new Lumia will be printed in black color with the name of the company and it’s four square logo as seen in the image above.

The name ‘Microsoft’ will most likely be present on the front of the phone also, just below the ear piece, which is the usual place where other companies also place their brand names.

Although the Nokia name will no longer be used for smartphones, low-end phones like the Nokia 130, will still be sold under the banner. Nokia still has a good brand image in India, Europe and other developing markets, and it's likely that Microsoft will continue to exploit that fact for years to come.
