Samsung this week unveiled its Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones, the latest phone in the Galaxy S series. Samsung has made some advancement by putting in some new modifications to the smartphones.

The Galaxy S6 is powered by the Exynox technology chips and runs on Android, and obviously Lollipop since that's the latest version of Android with 64 bit support.

The Galaxy S6 uses new type of flash memory featuring in the handset called UFS (Universal Flash Storage) 2.0 to enhance data speeds and power consumption, as well as improve speed of use - which is one reason why the microSD slot has been dropped.Galaxy S6 in 32, 64 and 128GB variants.

Samsung shifted from plastic case to an all alluminium case. This keeps the phone in one piece and also, a non-removable battery. That's a good bye to user-swappable batteries.

Samsung's stance is that since the S6 can charge faster than any other smartphone and now supports wireless charging, there's no real loss in trading the replaceable battery as the
phones can charge up enough for 2 hours' video playback in just 10 minutes with the new faster charging system in them.

The S6 has a fingerprint scanner which has been a feature on other of their devices. However, it's a touch-based variant, rather than the erratic swiping model, making it more in line with Apple's Touch ID. The Galaxy S6 also keeps the heart rate monitor from the Galaxy S5, although it's moved to the right of the camera sensor.
